trip to Newfoundland

From her home-based office in Dearborn, Michigan, Kay provides editorial services and scientific reports for corporations, governmental agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

As an avid birder and naturalist, Kay enjoyed a variety of fauna and flora at her former Colorado homes on 3 acres at 8,200 feet on Bear Mountain in Evergreen and near North Table Mountain in Golden, as well as in other areas of the United States and the world.

Kay also enjoys hiking, camping, fly fishing, nature photography, snowshoeing, classical piano, reading, and travel. In this site she shares her wildlife photography and birding trip summaries from around the world.

She is active in the following organizations:

Iowa Ornithologists’ Union (IOU) (Editor of Iowa Bird Life, 2000–2009),

Colorado Field Ornithologists (CFO),

The Evergreen Naturalist Audubon Society (TENAS) (past board member and officer),

Denver Field Ornithologists (DFO) (Secretary, 2011-2015, editor of The Lark Bunting, 2013-2017), and other national environmental organizations.

She served on the board and as secretary, vice president, and president of Big Bluestem Audubon Society (BBAS) in Ames, Iowa.
